Ray has been one of the Teaching Pastors of Chantilly Bible Church for fifteen years. His passion for God’s Word, and to disciple men to live out the Word of God is well established.
Ray grew up in Ohio, trusted in Christ as a senior in High School, and then went off to the Coast Guard Academy. His 12 years in the Coast Guard included graduate training at Rennselear Polytechnic Institute where he earned a master’s degree in engineering. Even more important, Ray met his wife Mary while at RPI. After five years in Wildwood NJ, Ray and Mary moved to Virginia with their two children in 1988. Solid Bible teaching drew them to Chantilly Bible Church where they have attended for 24 years.
The move to Virginia allowed Ray to use his data modeling and design skills to build and manage business software development efforts. However, after nine years, Ray sensed the Lord’s call to attend seminary. Ray graduated from Capital Bible Seminary with a Master of Arts in New Testament and joined the staff at CBC.
The years on staff have allowed Ray to work in a broad range of ministry areas including Children’s, Music & Worship, and Adult ministries. “It is fascinating to look back and see how God has been preparing me for what lies ahead.”
For fun, Ray enjoys model trains and playing French horn. He and Mary stay active looking for good hiking trails, and enjoying their grandchildren.
Don grew up in Maryland and attended Washington Bible College. While in school, Don served as a Youth Pastor at a church outside of Baltimore, MD. During college he went on many short term mission trips. One trip led him to work for North American Missions in Seattle, Washington. He worked there as a carpenter and also worked with teens. After his year in missions he married his wife, Linda. He then worked full time as a carpenter while working part time in the ministry. In 1989 he came on staff full time as the Youth Pastor at Chantilly Bible Church. He was the Youth Pastor there until 2009 when he transitioned to Shepherding Pastor.
No matter the age group with which Don works, he wants people to see Christ in action. His desire is to help them learn more about our Savior through Bible study, mission trips, and time spent together.
Don and Linda have 4 kids, one out of college, two in college and one still in high school. If you can’t find him at church he’s either playing soccer or fishing.
